Peter Persoff earned a master’s degree in sanitary engineering and worked for two years for a small consulting firm that designed waste water collection and treatment systems. After that he went into research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he studied multiphase flow in
fractured and porous rocks. He is currently working on the Yucca Mountain Project. However, he is still interested in sanitary engineering, and in
2005 participated in a public health survey of a remote Jewish community in Uganda.
